Dr. Julie Miles
Medical Director
Dr. Miles grew up in Pickerington. She graduated from Pickerington High School in 1991 and went on to pursue a degree in Psychology at Ohio University, which she received in 1996. She then obtained her Masters in Social Work at Ohio State in 1998 and worked as a social worker at The Ohio State University Medical Center and Grant Medical Center for several years. However, Dr. Miles never lost sight of her childhood dream of becoming a veterinarian.
She decided to make a career change and graduated from Ohio State’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. It was also during her time in veterinary school that she met her husband, Dale, who works with small two-legged creatures at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Her professional interests include dentistry, feline medicine, and client communications. She understands the importance of helping clients understand the diagnosis and treatment options for their pets while taking into account their family’s circumstances. As a former social worker, Dr. Miles is sensitive to the emotional needs of her clients and their pets, and she is passionate about providing compassionate care to both.
Dr. Miles resides in Granville with her husband and two sons. She is a proud owner of a small zoo at home, which includes three dogs, two cats, multiple snakes, two tortoises, two turtles, numerous fish tanks, and many tarantulas (which belong to her husband, and she doesn’t really want to know how many there are).

Jerrika joined our team at CCAH in March of 2024 as a Veterinary Assistant. Jerrika’s passion for animals was nurtured while growing up on a farm surrounded by horses and a goat named George. Jerrika married her best friend in 2016 and relocated to Oklahoma. There, she had the opportunity to work alongside a talented veterinarian/chiropractor who became her mentor and taught her invaluable skills and knowledge in the field. After three years in Oklahoma, Jerrika and her husband returned to Ohio, where she accepted a position in emergency veterinary medicine. While she enjoyed the fast-paced emergency care environment, she wanted to build more consistent relationships with clients and patients. Abby Jones
Abby came to us in August of 2024 looking for a place where she could grow her relationship with both human and animal clients. Her professional animal experience before coming to us was split between spay/neuter clinics and a rural shelter in Kentucky, where she worked on rehabilitating and finding good homes for the strays that were brought in. Before that, she used her degree in Gerontology working in nursing homes and senior home care in Chicago. Because of this experience, she is very passionate about end of life care in animals; she feels privileged to be able to help animals get a better end of life than many of the people that she has worked with in the past.
Abby doesn’t consider herself a dog or a cat person, but an animal person. Having completed a year long continuing education Animal-Assisted Therapy program, she is very invested in the Human-Animal bond and her favorite thing about working at CCAH is bonding with patients and their owners, and educating clients on the many ways they can strengthen their bond and their pets’ quality of life.
Abby and her husband have a German Shepherd/Australian Cattle dog, Vigo, a Maine Coon/Siberian Mix cat, Thor, and a three-legged cat named Taza. In her free time, Abby loves reading and researching new veterinary medicine studies and spending time outside with her pup.

While she was there, she worked with different types of reptiles and rodents. During her high school years, she would volunteer at local shelters helping animals in need. She plans to become a Registered Veterinary Technician in the future. Her goal is to advocate for animals and inform owners how to care for their furry family members to the best of their abilities. Taylor and her partner Sophia have 4 pets named Beetle, Juice, Brutus, and Scooby. Outside of work, you can find her at the gym, the pickleball courts, or with her friends and family.
